How to set up HTTPS/SSL in WordPress behind Proxy (nginx, HAProxy, Apache, lighttpd)

Today I changed the accessibility of my blog from HTTP (unencrypted) to HTTPS/SSL. My blog is running WordPress behind an nginx proxy server.
